Dzień 7 – prawie cale popołudnie padało ale noc przyniosła nam pomyślny wiatr o sile 4 – 5 i spokojne morze. Tylko czasami mocno błyskało na południu. Dzisiaj jest jeszcze ciszej: mało wiatru, ani jednej chmurki na niebie, fale prawie niewyczuwalne. A wiec silnik w ruch a my zajęliśmy się posztormowymi naprawami na jachcie. Wymiana uszkodzonych fałów foka i grota, skonstruowanie nowych szotów foka w miejsce zerwanego, poruszającego się do tej pory na wózku, przegląd dziwnie zachowującej się instalacji odsalającej wodę (bardzo przydatnej inwestycji, poczynionej na Martynice, dającej nam ogromny komfort). Przy piwie, po skończonej pracy uświadomiliśmy sobie, ze od momentu wypłynięcia (z wyjątkiem radiowego kontaktu z jachtem z La Rochelle, idącym również na Azory) nie spotkaliśmy ani jachtu, ani statku, absolutnie nikogo.
Za to mięliśmy okazje zobaczyć wieloryby, delfiny, nieliczne ptaki, lecz głownie butelki, pływające kanistry, porwane sieci, pogubione obijacze (jednego, w idealnym stanie nawet wyłowiliśmy). Prawdopodobnie inni biorą pod uwagę wskazówki z podręczników żeglarskich i faktycznie omijają te rejony..

7e jour – il a plu presque toute l`apres-midi mais la nuit nous a apporte un vent favorable de force 4-5 et une mer calme. Seulement, par moments, on voyait des gros éclairs dans le Sud. Aujourd`hui c`est le calme : peu de vent, le ciel bleu sans un nuage, les vagues a peine perceptibles. Donc le moteur en marche et nous nous sommes occupes des reparations post-tempete. L`echange des drisses du foc et de la grand-voile, la confection des ecoutes pour le foc a la place de l`ecoute arrachee du charriot de virement automatique, la revision du dessalinisateur (l`investissement tres utile effectue en Martinique qui nous procure un confort inestimable).Une fois les travaux termines, en buvant notre biere, nous nous sommes rendu compte que depuis notre depart nous n`avons croise aucun bateau, absolument personne (a l`exception d`un contact radio avec un voilier de La Rochelle allant aussi aux Acores) !
En revanche nous avons eu l`opportunite de voir des baleines, des dauphins, quelques oiseaux, mais aussi des bouteilles, des jerricans, des filets de peche dechires, un pare-battage (qu`on a d`ailleurs repeche en bon etat).
Visiblement les autres prennent en compte les conseils des guides nautiques et evitent ces regions…

Day 7 – it rained on and off all afternoon after the storm, but the night brought us starry skies, good winds (force 4 - 5) and calming seas, with only occasional thunders to the South of us. Today it’s even calmer: very little wind, not a cloud in the sky and small waves, so we motor and work all day fixing some storm damages (had to procure new sheets for the jib), changing used, near broken halliards of the main sail and the jib, trying to reset our desalting system which has been acting strangely over the last few days (incidentally, the most useful investment added to Wratislavia during its February layover in Martinique – very costly, requiring hulling, etc., but now giving us incomparable comfort level with unlimited fresh water supply to shower, do dishes, washing…). Over a beer after work we realized that since our departure, with an exception of a French yacht heading for La Rochelle and leaving St. Martin at the same time (we maintained radio contact with them for a few days), we have not met anyone: no other yachts, no cargo ships, nothing. We only saw some whales, dolphins, a few birds, empty cans, buckets, lost fenders (we even recovered one in a good usable shape), broken off nets and buoys. Maybe all others do really always follow textbook suggestions and don’t sail this way?
