Atlantyk – około 300 mil morskich od Wysp Zielonego Przyladka
Wojtek z Czarkiem od kilku dni doskonala „swoje jezyki obce”, czytajac
ksiazki. Wojtek po francusku a Czarek po angielsku. Przepytuja się
nawzajem z trudniejszych slow napotkanych w tekscie. Ja ucze się coraz
mniej potrzebnej astronawigacji. W dobie GPS-ow to już tylko hobby. Ale
wyciaganie sekstantu z drewnianego pudelka, celowanie,to jednak przyjemnosc.
W moje dzisiejsze proby zaangazowalem Wojtka. Trwaly one co najmniej
poltorej godziny. Może jednak wezme się za nauke hiszpanskiego. Na
szczescie mam ze soba podrecznik dla poczatkujacych.

Since a few days Wojtek and Czarek have been mastering their foreign
language skills by reading books – Wojtek in French and Czarek in English.
They test each other on more difficult vocabulary they encounter. Me – I am
studying decreasingly less relevant astro-navigation. With the advent of GPS
it’s just a hobby anymore. But – getting the sextant out of its wooden box,
taking the measurements, it is such a pleasure after all. I engaged Wojtek
in my trials today. They took at least hour-and-a-half. Perhaps I should
study Spanish instead. Luckily I’ve brought a text book for beginners with
me.

Atlantic – environ 300 milles nautiques des Iles du Cap Vert
Depuis quelques jours Wojtek et Czarek perfectionnent leurs langues
etrangeres en lisant des bouquins – Wojtek en francais et Czarek en anglais.
Ils s’interrogent l’un l’autre sur des mots plus difficiles rencontres dans
le texte. Quant a moi, j’apprends l’astronavigation, devenue de moins en
moins utile. A l’heure des GPS cela devient uniquement un dada. Mais le
geste de sortir le sextant de sa boite en bois, puis faire un relevement a
l’ancienne, c’est tout de meme un plaisir. Aujourd’hui j’ai engage Wojtek
dans mes essais. Cela nous a pris au moins une heure et demi. Je crois que
je vais plutot me mettre a l’espagnol. A mon bonheur, j’ai avec moi un
manuel pour les debutants.
