Porto – pierwszy port po nieomal 4 dobach żeglugi, pierwsza łączność internetowa.
Wyruszyliśmy z Hendaye (N 43^o 22.132’, E 001^o 47.020’) z francuskiej części kraju Basków w poniedziałek, 24.09. o 13;40. Już po kilku godzinach żeglugi musieliśmy wyciągnąć polary, swetry, czapki i ciepłe sztormiaki. Biskaje przywitały nas zachodnim wiatrem („w mordę”) 4 – 5^o, deszczem i 3 metrowymi falami.
Po trzech dobach halsowania minęliśmy Finister (najdalszy, zachodni przylądek Hiszpanii) i mogliśmy zmienić kurs na południowy. W końcu baksztag, trochę slońca i pierwsze delfiny. A następnego dnia całe mnóstwo delfinów…
W Porto planujemy jeden dzień postoju poświęcić na drobne naprawy, uzupełnienie wody, ładowanie akumulatorów, tankowanie paliwa przed wyruszeniem w kierunku Madery. Jednego z nas czeka jazda na 26 metrów ponad poziom pokładu. Trochę wysoko –od lustra wody to trochę wyżej niż ósme piętro. Pechowo zerwał się fał spinakera.

Porto – our first port after almost four days of sailing, our first internet communication. We left Hendaye (N 43o 22.132’, E 001o 47.020’) in the French part of the Basque country on Monday, 24 September at 13:40. After only a few hours of sailing we had to get out our bad weather gear, hats, sweaters and warm wet weather clothes. The Biscays welcomed us with the westerly winds (straight in our faces) of 5 – 7o (Beaufort), rain and 3 meter waves. After three days of tacking back and forth we passed the Finisterre (literally “the end of the Earth”) – the furthest western part of Spain) and were able to change our course to the South. At last we’re able to get on a running tack, we get some sun and our first dolphins. Lots of them the next day…
In Porto we’re planning a one day stop-over to make some repairs, refill our water tanks, charge the batteries, and gas-up before we set off for Madeira. One of us needs to ride up 26 meters to the top of Wratislavia’s mast. A bit high – about eight stories from the water level. Unfortunately our spinnaker halyard broke.

Porto – notre premier port apres presque 4 jours de navigation, premier contact internet. On a quitte Hendaye (N 43o 22.132’, E 001o 47.020’), partie francaise de Pays Basque, lundi 24 Septembre a 13h40. Des les premieres heures de navigation on a du sortir les polaires, les pulls, les bonnets et les vestes de quart. Le golf de Gascogne nous a accueilli avec du vent d`ouest (dans le nez) 5 – 7o Beaufort, avec de la pluie et des vagues de 3 m. Apres 3 jours de tirage des bords nous avons passé le Cap Finisterre (pointe NW d`Espagne) et nous avons mis le cap plein Sud. Enfin le vent portant, un peu de soleil et les premiers dauphins. Et le jour suivant une multitude de dauphins…
A Porto nous dedions une journee aux petites reparations, plein d`eau, recharge des battries, plein de gasoil avant de partir pour Madere. L`un de nous doit s`envoler a 26m, en haut du mat pour reparer la drisse de spi. Depuis la surface de l`eau ca fait un peu plus que le huitieme etage !
