Dzień 16 – to tak jakbyśmy wracali z powrotem do cywilizacji z liczącej setki mil, groźnej, dzikiej, wodnej pustyni oceanu: znów czasami słyszymy rozmowy w radiu, spotykamy więcej ptaków krążących nisko nad wodą, od czasu do czasu widzimy daleko na horyzoncie statek płynący z Europy do Ameryki. To miłe uczucie, zwłaszcza że przez ostatnie dwa dni znów wiatr nam sprzyja. Wieje z południowego zachodu z siłą 4 stopni Beauforta, co umożliwiło nam postawienie naszego ogromnego, żółtego spinakera. Prędkość wzrosła do 7 – 9 węzłów, a to oznacza że do Horty na Azorach powinniśmy zawinąć jutro po południu.

16e jour – c`est comme si on laissait derriere nous les centaines de miles de l`ocean sauvage et desert pour revenir a la civilisation : nous entendons parler a la VHF, nous voyons plus d`oiseaux, et apercevons de temps a autre un cargo a l`horizon, reliant l`Ęurope aux Ameriques. Et c`est un sentiment bien agreable, d`autant plus que depuis deux jours le vent est redevenu favorable. Il vient du Sud-Ouest, force 4 Beaufort, ce qui nous permet de porter notre gros et beau spinnaker jaune. Notre vitesse a biensur augmente et nous filons a 7 – 9 noeuds. Nous devrions arriver aux Acores demain après-midi.

Day 16 – it feels like out of hundreds of miles of wild, deserted ocean we’re finally returning back to civilization: we hear people talking on the VHF radio, see more birds, meet an occasional cargo ship sailing between Europe and Americas. It is a good feeling especially that over the last two days the winds have been cooperating again: a pleasant Beaufort force 4 and SW direction, so we have our beautiful, huge yellow spinnaker up and travel at 7 – 9 knots. We should be arriving at Horta in the Azores some time tomorrow afternoon.
