Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Tym razem dwie doby na wodzie. Cały czas dość solidny baksztag (20 – 24 węzły z NE), a więc szybka żegluga. Minusem jest tzw roling spowodowany dość dużYmi falami. Mocne przechyły raz na jedną raz na drugą burtę. Trudno się śpi będąc tarmoszonym, przerzucanym z jednej strony koi na drugą. Więc również w dzień oczy nam sie kleją…
Jeszcze w Porto Santo, nieopodal nas cumował mały, nie najnowszy już jachcik. Nawet zastanawialiśmy się czy w ogóle jeszcze jest w stanie pływać. Dopiero gdy wybrał cumy i wyszedł w morze dowiedzieliśmy sie, że na „Kanarach” (a więc za 300 Mm) kończy on podróż dookoła świata. Będzie wtedy rekordzistą – najstarszym człowiekiem w historii, który samotnie opłynął nasz glob dookoła! Może go jeszcze spotkamy. W sumie przecież na Wyspach Kanaryjskich spędzimy sporo czasu. Będzie czego „dziadkowi” gratulować!
Również w Porto Santo mieliśmy okazję odwiedzić dom Krzysztofa Kolumba i przy okazji przez chwilę uczestniczyć w uroczystości pierwszego przyjęcia nowego biskupa przez miejscowa parafię (a była właśnie niedziela…).
W całej naszej wyprawie, trwającej już ponad dwa tygodnie spotkaliśmy (na wodzie) jedynie dwa inne jachty. Jeden z nich właśnie wczoraj na N 31 06’ W 016 07’. Holenderskie małżeństwo na 34 stopowej jednostce przez radio dzieliło się z nami swoją wiedzą na temat do którego portu warto zawinąc.
Wczoraj wieczorem znów niezapomniana kolacja przy lampie na pokładzie Wratislavii płynącej z prędkościa 10 węzłów. A jakie smakołyki! Kasiu wielkie dzięki za rozpieszczanie naszych podniebień w tym rejsie!!!
Dzisiaj prace nad sprawdzeniem sprzętu ratunkowego, ulepszenia łańcucha kotwicznego, sprzątanie etc.
Planujemy wyjść jurto w miarę wcześnie w kierunku Porto de Mogan na Gran Canaria. Ale najpierw trochę fanu dziś wieczór…

Santa Cruz de Tenerife
This time two solid days of sailing. Most of the time we’re reaching at strong 20 – 24 knots from NE meaning pretty fast pace, which is good. What’s tough is so called rolling caused by sizeable waves. Heeling from one side to the other. It’s really difficult to get some sleep being thrown violently in all directions on the bunk. As a result we’re a bit dozy during the day…
Still in Porto Santo we spotted a quite run down, small, old yacht. We even wondered if it was still fit to sail. Only after it pulled its mooring lines and left the marina the next morning did we learn from another sailor that in the Canaries (i.e., in 300 nautical miles) it would be completing its round-the-world trip and its owner would be breaking the world record – the oldest lone sailor ever in history to accomplish this. May be we’ll catch up with him yet – after all we will be spending quite a while in the Canaries. There would be a lot to congratulate the old man for!
Also still in Porto Santo we had an opportunity to visit Christopher Colombus’ house and participate in an official welcoming of the new Madeira bishop by a local parish (and it was a Sunday…).
During our entire trip so far (i.e., over two weeks) we only encountered two other sailing yachts in the seas. One of them just yesterday at N 31 06’ W 016 07’. A Dutch couple sailing a 34 foot yacht. They shared with us over the VHF radio their experiences regarding the ports in the area worthwhile visiting.
Last night we had yet another unforgettable feast at the kerosene lamp light on Wratislavia’s deck as she was moving at 10 knots. And what delicious treats! Many thanks to you Kasia for spoiling us so during this voyage!!
Today we’re working on checking our security equipment, improvements of the anchor chain, general cleaning, etc.
We’re planning to leave early tomorrow morning and head in the direction of Porto de Mogan on Gran Canaria island. But first some more fun tonight…

Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Cette fois-ci deux bonnes journees sur l`eau. Et tout ce temps un bon grand largue (20 – 24 noeuds du NE), donc une navigation rapide. L`inconvenient c`est le roulis cause par d`assez grosses vagues. Des fortes inclinaisons d`un cote puis de l`autre rendent le sommeil difficile, agite, balance d`une couchette vers celle d`en face. Par consequent, le jour venu, nous restons un peu endormis…
Encore a Porto Santo, pas loin de nous, nous avons repere un petit voilier qui n`etait plus tout jeune. Nous nous sommes meme demande s`il etait encore en l`etat de naviguer. Seuleument apres qu`il ait largue les amarres et sorti en mer, nous avons appris que Les Canaries (300 milles plus loin) etaient la derniere etape de son tour du monde. Il detienderait alors le record du monde du plus vieil homme ayant accompli un tour du monde en solitaire ! Peut etre le rencontrerons nous encore. En verite, nous passerons aux Canaries pas mal de temps. Il y aura de quoi feliciter le „grand-pere“ !
Toujours a Porto Santo nous avons eu la chance de visiter la maison de Christophe Columb et par la meme occasion participer durant quelques instants aux celebrations d`accueil du nouvel eveque de Madere par la curie locale (et justement on etait dimanche…).
Durant toute notre expedition, depuis deja deux semaines, nous n`avons croise (sur l`eau) que deux autres voiliers. L`un de ceux-la ce fut hier, par N 31 06’ W 016 07’. Un couple de Hollandais sur un bateau de 34 pieds a partage par VHF ses connaissances au sujet des ports qui vaillent la peine d`etre vus.
Hier soir une fois de plus un dinner inoubliable a la lampe a petrole, a bord de Wratislavia voguant a 10 noeuds. Et quels delices ! Un grand merci a Kasia d`avoir prepare ces bons petits plats pour nous !!!
Aujourd`hui petits travaux de verification du materiel de securite, ameliorations de la chaine de mouillage, nettoyage etc.
Nous envisageons de sortir assez tot demain. Direction Porto de Mogan sur Gran Canaria. Mais d`abord la fete ce soir !
